A Chinese supercomputer which was designed from the composition of indigenous Chinese chip technology has been officially declared the fastest in the world. This particularly typifies the giant strides China has recorded in the design of these systems, as well as the thinning dependence of China on US semiconductor technology.

THE TAIHULIGHT IS CAPABLE OF 93 PETAFLOPS

The Sunway TaihuLight snatches the first position from its predecessor which is equally housed in China: the Tianhe-2 with the new top design more than three times faster than the former number one. This new design boasts the capacity to perform some 93 quadrillion calculations per second (which is also seen as petaflops) and is by estimation five times more powerful than the fastest US system, with the US system now ranked in third position globally.

The TaihuLight is made up of about 41,000 chips, each rocking 260 processor cores. This runs into a total of 10.65 million cores, as against the 560,000 cores in America’s top machine. As to the dimension of memory, it is quite light on its feet relatively with just 1.3 petabytes deployed for the entire machine. The implication is that it is absurdly ( in the positive sense) more energy efficient, drinking in just 15.3 megawatts of power for use — this is by far less than 17.8 megawatts used by the 33-petaflop Tianhe-2.

Another aspect of this development much more mind-blowing than its specs, is the astonishing reality that the TaihuLight was wholly designed from Chinese semiconductors. “It’s not based on an existing architecture. They built it themselves,” Jack Dongarra, a professor at the University of Tennessee and creator of the measurement system used to rank the world’s supercomputers, had explained to Bloomberg. “This is a system that has Chinese processors.”

The last supercomputer holding the number spot down, China’s Tianhe-2, was designed from US-made Intel processors. There were plans in progress to make an upgrade to the performance of the Tianhe-2, but the US threw a spanner in such works when the US government in April 2015 slapped an export ban on all high-performance computing chips to China. The Department of Commerce have the explanation that the export of such delicate technology was “acting contrary” to American national security as well as US foreign interests, adding in suggestions that an earlier Chinese supercomputer — the Tianhe-1A — had played sensitive roles after being “used in nuclear explosive activities.”

The only constant thing in life is change. We are called humans because we are the most intelligent creations of God Almighty. We can only prove our intelligence and be proud of being a human if we can effect the required change in our environment.
It is 100% proven that you and I alone can effect a change in our environments. If you are to consider a plant which may have plans to effect change its surroundings to make it a better place, you can say it is impossible because they are restricted only to its root position since it cant move from one place to another. We can then conclude that no one can do it for us.

The first thing you need to do in order to effect a change is to be determined. I would always say “the first step to change is determination”. Change starts with a ready mind, determined mind which is wiling to use what he has to start effecting the desired change in order to make the world a better place.
One of my favourite quote is “A thought of greatness is the only great thing accomplished overnight”. I tried everything within my power to accomplish something great, effect the desired change in my environment and I discovered that I can't accomplish such in a day, since change comes with time. Change is a gradual process. But then I said to myself, “My thought of a great change is already one step ahead”.

    Change is not a one man's business, it needs a combined effort. Also, being determined to effect the required change is to know or decide on that aspect of life in which you can and willing to effect such desired change. If you are a politician, you may decide to build-up a corruption free government. If you own a school, you can also decide to build-up a school of intelligent students who don't cheat to pass exams, students who would be able to defend their certificates. As an individual you can also achieve something great to the service of your country, humanity and your creator (GOD ALMIGHTY).

 Like they have said, “some are born great, some achieve greatness, while others greatness rest upon them”. For me I would say that greatness is within us all, its in the mind; if you think great, start doing great things then you will ,surely become great.

  A teacher I would say has already achieved on great thing if not the greatest. They created a nation, you and I. They have taught great people who through their teachings and lectures did great things. Change has to start from our leaders, teachers, and our government through their teachings and leadership. If you think that they are not effecting the change that is required then try and become your nation's leader. Yes! Why not become the leader and start effecting that great and desired change.
   Apart from being determined and thinking great to start effecting a great change and being great, what's next ?? It takes time to effect a change that is really great, every seconds of our lives really counts. I would then say that “TIME IS CHANGE”.

From my observation I discovered that, THERE ARE TWO SET OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD; THOSE THAT CHOOSE TO WAIT FOR TIME TO PASS BY AND THOSE THAT PASS-BY WITH THE TIME. Why not start doing great things, effecting a great change because your time starts now, the clock is already ticking.

 Before I started writing, I had thoughts of being a writer. Then I said to myself, “since I can write why not start impacting lives through my works”, because the greatest thing I had ever thought of accomplishing is to build a nation, effect the change required through my teachings, my write-ups and also create a network chain of change.
A great writer I would also say is a great thinker, thinking beyond the imaginable.     Why not think of what you have being assigned to change by your creator and start effecting such desired change.

  Change must continue to take place because I think change will forever remain constant since YOU and I are always there to effect such change. But not just any change though, but a great one.

Have you ever desired for something earnestly that all your thoughts are focused on such thing?

Have you wished you have something good? Is time running out? Have you realized those desires/wishes? Do you think you can ever realize those things you had desired?
Those questions kept ringing in my head. I needed answers to them. More and more questions kept coming. WISHES AND DESIRES.
After a moment of thinking, I started getting good answers to all these questions.
I discovered that not all desires and wishes can come to realization. Yes, that’s right. My reason is that some things we are wishing for or we desire are not for the good of others, themselves and contradicts the will of God (their creator). This things we can relate ourselves.

But that alone did not satisfy me. It has not answered it all. I had to pause for a while, slept over it, did a little research over it (want and desire) and the finally prayed. When I had finished praying I discovered that what I thought initially was the answer to my entire questions.
What’s that? You may ask. It is “PRAYER”. Yes, prayer to God concerning that thing which you desire and wished for brings about quick realization. The Holy Bible made us to understand that prayer is the key. Yes, key that can open any door.

I remembered when I took one exam in my university. The course was not that easy. Right there in the exam hall I started wishing and hoping that I would have a good grade in that course. Couldn’t sleep for days, thinking and wondering what grade I would get in the course. All my thoughts were focused on that result wishing it well. But then I sat down and asked my self this question, “have you even prayed over it?”. When I got this clue I had to start praying immediately over the result. Giving more time to prayer rather than just wishing and hoping for the best without any effort of your maker. You can only connect with your maker and creator through prayer.

But then remember that even if you prayed and what you want and wished for is not inline with the will of God (our creator) then don’t expect to see the realization of such desire.
Never forget that, “how long you have been wishing to get something doesn’t count, what counts is how long you have been praying over it”.
